Care in a Heartbeat: Signs of Progress

January 7, 2013: Connecticut budget cuts may delay Day Kimball Hospital emergency department renovation project

As a result of the recent approval by the Connecticut state legislature of the budget deficit reduction plan due to the budget crisis, Day Kimball Healthcare has learned that it will experience major cuts to Day Kimball Hospital’s Medicaid reimbursements. The state has informed us that the hospital is being cut $3.8 million in state reimbursements for fiscal year 2013.

One of the results of these cuts may be that we are forced to delay construction of our new emergency department.

For more information, please see our news release. Please don’t hesitate to let your legislators know that you’re concerned about the impact of the state budget cuts on DKH, especially the potential delay of our new emergency department.
