Day Kimball Healthcare provides high quality, convenient diagnostic imaging services at four locations across Northeast Connecticut. Our state-of-the-art facilities use the latest technologies. Our associated board-certified radiologists from Jefferson Radiology are experts in the fields of diagnostic imaging and interventional radiology. And, our integrated Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system means your care team will have access to your imaging results as soon as they’re available, providing you with a shorter wait time to receive results and helping you to avoid redundant testing so you can better control your healthcare costs.

Our services include:

CT (Computerized Tomography) Scans
Head and body scans, CT angiography, and CT-guided biopsies and surgical procedures are performed at Day Kimball Hospital.

DEXA (Bone Density/Bone Densiometry) Testing
We offer dual energy bone density imaging for the detection of osteoporosis and high definition instant vertebral assessment for detection of spine fractures with rapid, low dose, single energy images in seconds.

Low-Dose CT Lung Cancer Screening
If you’re at risk for lung cancer, a low-dose computed tomography (LDCT) lung cancer screening could save your life. It is the only recommended screening test for lung cancer and has been proven to significantly reduce deaths from the disease. It can help identify early stage lung cancers when they are most treatable, resulting in better outcomes for patients. Day Kimball Hospital is an American College of Radiology Designated Lung Cancer Screening Center. Learn more >

Mammography
We offer full field digital (FFD) screening and diagnostic mammographies, ductograms, needle localizations, invasive procedures and sterotactic core biopsies.

PET (Positron Emission Tomography) Scans
PET scans use a radioactive drug to show how your tissues and organs are functioning. PET scans are helpful in diagnosing or assessing several conditions, including cancer, heart disease and brain disorders.

Ultrasound
Ultrasound services include abdominal, breast, OB/GYN, testicular and vascular ultrasounds, as well as echocardiography, stress echocardiography, transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) and ultrasound-guided invasive procedures.

Day Kimball Healthcare offers the Espree Open Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI). With its extra large opening, patients that are anxious or require additional space can comfortably be accommodated.

Some kidney examinations (IVPs) will require an injection and certain patients will require laboratory testing be performed in advance. Please provide a list of your current medications when you arrive for this (IVP) exam. The ordering physician will notify the patient of this when ordering the exam.

Patients for the more involved procedures will be called in advance to verify their appointment, location, and time.

Printed results will be available through the patient’s ordering physician three to four days after the procedure has been performed.

Please ask ordering physician for specific study information and preparations relative to the procedures that they are requesting.

Patients will receive two bills, one from Day Kimball Hospital for performing the procedure and one from Jefferson Radiology, for interpreting the procedure.
