The Wound Care Clinic at Day Kimball Hospital provides specialized treatment to facilitate the healing of chronic wounds, such as diabetic foot ulcers, lower extremity venostasis ulcers, poorly healing surgical wounds, and chronically infected wounds.
The Clinic is run by a staff of specially trained and certified wound care nurses under the supervision of a physician with special training in wound care. Treatments include special dressing applications, topical pharmaceutical compounds and surgical and non-surgical debridement (removal of dead, damaged or infected tissue).
The Wound Care Clinic collaborates with Day Kimball Healthcare’s Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, HomeCare, nutritionist, and diabetes management services as necessary.
Care at the Wound Care Clinic requires a referral and by appointment only. Referrals may be made by primary care practitioners, hospital-based physicians and surgeons. Once a referral is made, patients may call the Clinic Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. to schedule their first appointment. Appointments are available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
