Newly Renovated Birthing Suites

Located on the first floor of the Hale Medical Pavilion, the Birthing Center includes seven beautifully appointed labor, delivery and recovery rooms equipped with the latest fetal monitoring and birthing equipment.

Each of our spacious, private and comfortable birthing suites have been newly renovated and feature state-of-the-art birthing beds that provide security and comfort for moms, and many of the comforts of home including a flat screen television with DVD player, and a full, private bathroom with a shower.

Our Expert Team is Here Every Step of the Way

The Center is staffed by a warm and caring team of board certified obstetricians/gynecologists, family practice physicians, APRNs, PAs, and nurses who have extensive experience in maternity and newborn care. Our team of pediatric hospitalists and APRNs specially trained in neonatal care provides excellent care around-the-clock to newborns. And our nurses have been consistently rated highest in patient satisfaction in Connecticut according to an independent, national survey.

Rooming In and Skin-to-Skin

After delivery, your baby will be placed on your chest following birth. Skin-to-skin helps you bond with your baby and start the first feeding, and provides numerous health benefits for your baby such as stabilizing body temperature, heart rate, and breathing.

Your baby will stay in your room with you following birth. This will allow you to learn your baby's needs and give your baby warmth, comfort and security. Healthy moms and babies room in together 24 hours a day to facilitate feeding and learning your new baby’s behaviors. Our caring team is always nearby to answer your questions and teach you about caring for your baby.
