Arthur Bourque Named Employee of the Month at Day Kimball Healthcare
Arthur Bourque, informatics pharmacist, Day Kimball Healthcare, is the organization’s June Employee of the Month.
PUTNAM, CONN. – Arthur Bourque has been named employee of the month for June at Day Kimball Healthcare (DKH). He is an informatics pharmacist in the DKH Pharmacy Services Department.
In her nomination submission, Carol Howland, RN, MSN, CNE-BC, DKH vice president of patient care services/CNO, stated: “In his quiet demeanor, Art is creative in his problem solving approach. He spends time analyzing systems issues to create safe medication management solutions and positive patient outcomes. He works diligently when researching and providing solutions, in collaboration with physicians, nurses and other members of the healthcare team.”
Bourque has worked at DKH for 9 years. In his role as an informatics pharmacist, he is responsible for the development, building or modification, implementation and ongoing maintenance of all aspects of pharmacy-related applications, clinical information systems, and computerized pharmacy systems.
Upon learning of his being named Employee of the Month, Bourque stated, “I am very surprised and very much honored to be chosen for this award. I enjoy the challenge of this position, and the work that I do on behalf of our patients is rewarding.”
According to Guinxe Gabriel, PharmD, MBA, DKH director of pharmacy, “Art has consistently demonstrated great initiative and enthusiasm as a pharmacist. His dedication to patient medication safety has made him a patient advocate. His nomination as Employee of the Month is a well-deserved recognition.”
Bourque holds an undergraduate degree in pharmacy and molecular biology from the University of Connecticut, and an MBA from Texas A & M University. Bourque and his wife, Carla, reside in Moosup, Connecticut.
