PUTNAM, CT
– Stephen and Logan Benoit proudly hold onto the teddy bears they received visiting the Emergency Department on April 14th from the Northeast Connecticut Healthcare Credit Union's Adopt-a-Bear Program. The credit union recently donated 255 teddy bears to Day Kimball Hospital's Emergency Department as part of the this program. These bears were adopted for $5 each by Hospital employees and credit union members and are given to children who visit the Emergency Department. The Adopt-a-Bear Program is run by credit unions statewide for the benefit of the State Police, Hospital Emergency Departments and other agencies that help children in crisis. The Northeast Connecticut Healthcare Credit Union chose to have all adopted bears donated to Day Kimball in the effort of keeping fundraising monies local. Last year alone, over 28,000 visits were made to Day Kimball's Emergency Department.
