Day Kimball Expands Blood Draw Services

PUTNAM, CT – Day Kimball Healthcare recently expanded its blood drawing services to five convenient locations throughout Northeast Connecticut. Canterbury Family Practice and Woodstock Medical Associates joined the growing list of Day Kimball’s blood drawing service locations, which also includes Day Kimball Hospital in Putnam, Danielson Healthcare Center and Plainfield Healthcare Center.

As a fully integrated healthcare delivery organization, it is important to Day Kimball Healthcare that it serves its patients with convenient services in addition to the highest quality of care. Kathy Smolen, directory of laboratory services said, “Our goal is provide services that ensure customer satisfaction based on quality and accuracy of results in a timely manner, as well as accessibility throughout the community. With this in mind, we continue to review other locations to open additional blood draw stations throughout Northeast Connecticut.”

Day Kimball Healthcare blood drawing services are staffed by experienced phlebotomists and are available for all patients with lab draw orders. Office hours vary by location with weekend hours available in Putnam and Plainfield, giving Northeast Connecticut blood drawing services seven days a week. Locations and hours for all Day Kimball blood draw stations are as follows:

Day Kimball Hospital: Monday-Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.; Saturday, 7:00 a.m. to 12 Noon; Sunday, 8:00 a.m. to 12 Noon

Canterbury Family Practice: Mondays and Wednesdays, 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

Danielson Healthcare Center: Monday-Friday 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Plainfield Healthcare Center: Monday-Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.; Saturday, 7:00 a.m. to 12 Noon

Woodstock Medical Associates: Monday – Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 12 noon.

The Day Kimball Laboratory performs l.9 million laboratory tests per year, which are conducted 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The laboratory maintains a high level of competency through the Proficiency Testing of the College of American Pathologists.

All instrumentation used to perform testing in our laboratory utilizes bar code labels that download test requests associated with the patient name and physician orders.
