Day Kimball Healthcare's Plainfield Walk-In Center is Now Open Seven Days Per Week

The Walk-In Center at 12 Lathrop Road, Plainfield, is available for the entire family when their primary care doctor isn’t available, especially nights and weekends.

PUTNAM, CONN. – In a continued effort to decrease the growing number of non-emergent patient visits to hospital emergency departments, Day Kimball Healthcare today announced that its Plainfield Walk-In Center is now open seven days per week.

Located at 12 Lathrop Road, the Plainfield Walk-In Center provides non-emergent care for conditions such as minor sport injuries, work-related injuries, respiratory and gastrointestinal infections, minor eye trauma, musculoskeletal pain, and skin conditions.

“Our goal is to provide accessible, high-quality, non-emergent medical care for families who need unscheduled attention, including on Saturday and Sunday, in Northeast Connecticut,” said Richard Brody, MD, medical director for walk-in care, Day Kimball Healthcare. He continued, “The Walk-In Center supports community primary care physicians by keeping them informed of their patients visits for streamlined follow-up and tracking. It also provides a lower-cost alternative to emergency department use without sacrificing quality of care.”

The Plainfield Healthcare Center Walk-In Center is staffed with doctors, physician assistants and nurse practitioners, and also offers blood draw and x-ray services. The center is open Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. - 7:30 p.m., Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m., Saturday from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. and Sunday from 9:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Most health insurance plans are accepted, and patients have lower co-pay requirements than with the emergency department.
