Northeast Connecticut’s First Baby Comes Second Day of New Year

PUTNAM, CT – Day Kimball Hospital welcomed the first baby of the year on Saturday, January 2, 2010 at 2:26 a.m. Baby boy, Ja’von Elijah Arrington was delivered by Dr. Erica Kesselman weighing 8 lbs. 5 oz. to parents Kurston Fuller and Jeffrey Arrington.

“It was really exciting to have the first baby of 2010,” said Kurston Fuller. “I really appreciated all of the donations we received in the gift bag.” As a first time mother, Fuller said everything is going well at home and everyone is very happy. She commented, “Our stay at Day Kimball was great. Everyone was very helpful and really nice.”

Being the first born baby in 2010, Ja’Von’s parents were presented with a gift bag from Day Kimball Hospital filled with items donated from local businesses. Contributions included gift cards and certificates, stuffed animals and a savings bond. Generous donors included the Day Kimball Hospital Woman’s Board Gift Shop, Walmart, Express Photo, Midtown Fitness, Phyllis’s Specialty Baking, Day Kimball HomeMakers, Putnam Bank, Wonderland Books, Hank’s Restaurant, Someplace Special, the Courthouse Bar and Grille and Windy Acres Florist.
