PUTNAM, CONNECTICUT – Known for being caring, humble, respectful and kind in his role as chaplain, Reverend Jonathan Scott has been named Day Kimball Healthcare’s 2011 Employee of the Year.

The announcement was made by Robert E. Smanik, president and CEO, and John P. Miller, then chairman of the board, at the organization’s annual meeting in January.

“I am flabbergasted,” exclaimed Scott as he accepted the award at the meeting. “It is a great privilege to work as chaplain at Day Kimball because I get to meet so many wonderful people every day. I will continue to enjoy the calling that I have and to serve in this way.”

Scott was one of twelve Day Kimball ‘Employees of the Month’ in 2011 as the December designee. To be selected as Employee of the Month, individuals are nominated by either their supervisor or a colleague, and are then chosen by a group of their peers seated on the Employee Council committee. One Employee of the Month recipient is further named Employee of the Year.

Scott has been employed by Day Kimball’s Pastoral Care department for more than 11 years where he provides spiritual support for patients and their families, as well as the hospital and hospice staff that work with them. He resides in Pomfret with his wife Sally and their children Michael, Karen and David.
