Thanks to you, we do great things every day.
Announcing the Kick-off of Day Kimball’s 2010 Appeals.
Here at Day Kimball Healthcare, we are blessed to have shared a very close partnership with our community for more than 115 years. And each year, you strengthen that partnership through your generous response to our annual appeal. Your contributions help us meet the needs of the 91,000 residents in the 13 towns we serve; whether you allocate your donation to one specific program, or split it among a few. But more important than the amount of your contribution or how you decide to share it with us is this fact: You will make a difference in the life of a neighbor. Below are the 2010 appeal opportunities for contributing to the health and wellness of our community. Click on the title of your preferred appeal to donate online now.
In 2009 we treated 191,225 outpatients and 5,576 inpatients, performed 3,004 one-day surgeries, delivered 559 babies and handled 25,173 visits to our emergency department. In 2010, your donations will help us enhance these critical services, renovate the ICU waiting room and our Putnam Pediatric Center, and perform other capital improvements that will make hospital visits more comfortable for patients, friends and families. Goal: $400,000
Construction is underway for a brand-new healthcare center in Plainfield that will house urgent care services and a comprehensive, state-of-the-art center for women’s health. We are also in the initial planning stages of renovating and expanding our emergency department at the hospital. You can choose to support this initiative now, or later as part of a capital campaign effort.
Last year our skilled HomeCare nurses provided wound care, IV therapy and other services through more than 62,000 home visits. They also helped patients in our TeleHealth Program, a telephonic patient monitoring system that helps with early intervention, reduces hospitalizations and increases independence and peace of mind for patients and families. We currently have only 50 TeleHealth devices to serve 400 clients; your support will help us acquire more. Goal: $30,000
In 2009 our HomeMakers devoted 82,000 hours to providing companionship, personal care assistance, transportation, caregiver relief and other services that typically are not covered by insurance. We also offer expert Alzheimer’s and dementia care services. Your donation will help us support patients and families who can’t afford the care they need to remain independent in their own homes as they deal with aging or illness in 2010. Goal: $35,000
Our highly regarded hospice and palliative care services comfort and ease the suffering of those dealing with serious illness or approaching the end of life. Nurses and volunteers provide traditional clinical care (pain management), alternative care (massage, reflexology, music therapy), assistance with complicated insurance issues, and other services. We helped 183 patients in 2009; your donation ensures this compassionate service remains available to those who need it in 2010. Goal: $120,000
Our pastoral care services are almost entirely supported by volunteers and your generous donations. Last year our team of hospital chaplains, local clergy and volunteers visited more than 8,000 patients and family members dealing with illness, accident or loss. They offer prayer, peace, spiritual guidance, the sacraments, pastoral and bereavement counseling and a comforting presence. Your support also helps us provide education about healthcare directives, living wills and organ donation. Goal: $20,000
Please help your neighbors, friends and family.
Your contribution has an immediate and significant impact as every penny helps improve the care we deliver locally.
