Sometimes a little sharing, assistance or education can go a long way toward making you feel better. To that end, we offer a variety of support groups, services and programs throughout the community. Because we care where you live.

Grandparents Raising Grandchildren Support Group: Second Tuesdays; 5:30 p.m.; Danielson Community Center. Amputee Clinic: Fourth Tuesdays; 10:00 a.m.; Day Kimball Rehab Center, Day Kimball Hospital, Putnam. Dr. Joseph O’Keefe meets with amputees to ensure proper care and fit of prosthetics. For info call 860-963-6322.

Family Training Seminar: Free classes for individuals caring for loved ones with Alzheimer’s disease & other related dementias. Held periodically throughout the year. Next class is December 28, 2009; 6:00 p.m.; Day Kimball Hospital, RHF #2.

Healthy Start/Husky Program: A healthcare program for pregnant women & children up to 19 years of age. Services include insurance for prenatal care for pregnant women & complete medical coverage for children. Parents or guardians may qualify for free medical assistance if financial restrictions are met. Case management services are also available. For info call 860-928-6541 X2595.
It’s Your Life...Live it Well: A free chronic disease self-management program designed for adults age 55 and older who want to take charge of their ongoing health problems. Mammograms and Pap Tests: Call 1-866-997-1663 regarding eligibility for the CT Breast and Cervical Cancer Grant. If ineligible for this grant, contact a financial counselor at Day Kimball Hospital regarding eligibility for a free mammogram certificate through the Day Kimball Hospital Deary Memorial Cancer Fund at 860-928-6541 x3316 or x2219.
