News & EventsDay Kimball Hospital Hosts the 4th Annual Cruisin’ for Cancer Motorcycle and Antique Car Cruise and Poker RunPUTNAM, CT – Day Kimball Hospital will host its 4th Annual Cruisin’ for Cancer event on Sunday, June 24. Motorcycles, classic and antique cars are invited to participate in this 65-75 mile cruise and poker run. The cruise will depart at 10:30 am from Putnam’s Municipal Parking lot on Kennedy Drive, with a midway stop at Trio’s Bar and Grille in Occum, ending at the Thompson Rod and Gun Club. “We are pleased to be hosting the 4th Annual Cruisin’ for Cancer event,” said Steve and Leia Faucher, Chairpersons of this year’s cruise. “We are looking forward to a fun ride and beautiful weather, while raising money for Day Kimball Hospital’s Deary Memorial Cancer Fund. Our goal this year is to raise $10,000 for the Deary fund. In return, all of the monies stay local, helping our local community members with oncology-related services.” Participants may register on the morning of the event from 8:30 to 10:00 am at the Putnam Municipal Parking Lot; attend the pre-registration party at JD Cooper’s on Saturday, June 23 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm; call Day Kimball Hospital’s Philanthropy and Corporate Communications office at 928-7141; or download a registration form from www.daykimball.org. Entry fees are $25.00 per person, or $35.00 per couple. Family and friends of registrants who will not be participating in the cruise may join in the meal and festivities at the Thompson Rod and Gun Club for a fee of $10.00 each.
