PUTNAM, CT – ay Kimball Hospital announces that Jeannine Fournier, RN of the IV Therapy Department was selected as the May Employee of the Month. The Employee Council, a group of 20 hospital representatives, selected Fournier as the employee of the month after reviewing various nominations from the hospital staff.
“Having worked at Day Kimball Hospital for 33 years, Jeannine is a true professional,” said Robin Lazenby, BSN, MS, CNOR, Director of Perioperative Services. “She is as conscientious as the first day she started. A dedicated employee, Jeannine is always willing to take on extra assignments. She is an excellent teacher and willingly shares her knowledge. Jeannine is an excellent nurse and a great resource to the hospital.”
A Clinical Level III registered nurse, Fournier has been employed at Day Kimball Hospital since September of 1974. According to Lazenby, Fournier often receives notes of thanks and gratitude from patients who appreciate her professional and compassionate manner. According to her peers, Fournier is a highly skilled nurse, excellent teacher and patient care focused. She enjoys teaching colleagues, patients and family members proper care techniques, and also participates in quality projects and committees.
“I have been a part of the Day Kimball Community, as an RN, since 1974,” said Fournier. “Our community is a wonderful team of both clinical and non-clinical personnel, and it takes the entire team to care for OUR patients. I am thrilled to be honored as a valued member of this wonderful team!”
Day Kimball Hospital will host a celebratory reception in Fournier’s honor on Thursday, May 24. Fournier’s family, friends, and co-workers are invited to celebrate in the festivities. Fournier lives in Woodstock with her husband, Richard. They have three grown children, Gregory, 28, who lives in Mansfield, CT; Kevin, 26, who lives in Watertown, MA; and Danielle, 25, who lives in Woburn, MA.
