News & EventsDay Kimball HomeMakers Announce 2008 Helping Neighbor CampaignPUTNAM, CT – Day Kimball HomeMakers recently launched its 2008 Helping Neighbor Campaign. Each year, all proceeds from the Helping Neighbor Campaign are given back to the community by offering services to clients on a sliding-scale basis. This year, Day Kimball HomeMakers has set a goal of raising $30,000 by December 31. Day Kimball HomeMakers, “We’re Here When You Need Us” is an important part of the services provided to our clients. For those who are moving through the aging process, companion, chore, transportation and personal care services are needs that often become essential. The Agency assists clients with chore, companion and homemaker services, as well as, personal care assistance, 24 hour and extended care, community travel, parent’s helper and caregiver respite. HomeMakers serves clients in the northeast Connecticut towns of Brooklyn, Canterbury, Eastford, Hampton, Killingly, Plainfield, Pomfret, Putnam, Thompson and Woodstock. “In the past few years we have come to appreciate the work of Day Kimball HomeMakers,” said Dr. John and Joan Graham, General Chairpersons for the Helping Neighbor Campaign. “It is an honor to lead this campaign on behalf of these dedicated individuals.” Dr. Graham is a principal in the Windham Urology Group, which is affiliated with Day Kimball Hospital, where he serves on the Board of Directors. Mrs. Graham is an RN with a Masters Degree in Nursing Education and is a faculty member in the Nursing Program at Three Rivers Community College in Norwich. This year’s Vice Chairperson is Ted Reynolds. Mr. Reynolds performs regularly as a voice in the local group known as “VOICES” and has been an integral part of raising philanthropy dollars for numerous local organizations. The campaign’s community chairpersons are Doug and Gail Porter of Woodstock. Mr. Porter is the owner of the Woodstock Building Associates and a member of the Putnam Rotary Club, while Mrs. Porter is a kindergarten teacher in Woodstock If you would like to make a donation to the Helping Neighbors Campaign, or would like a brochure mailed to you, please call Day Kimball Hospital’s Development Department at (860) 928-7141.
