Jane Holden, Physical Therapist of HomeCare is Named Day Kimball Hospital’s January Employee
of the Month
PUTNAM, CT – Day Kimball Hospital announces that Jane Holden, RPT,
of Day Kimball HomeCare is the hospital’s January employee of the month.
The Employee Council, a group of 20 hospital representatives, selected
Holden as the employee of the month after reviewing various nominations
from the hospital staff.
“I am honored to have been selected as the first employee of the month in 2007,” shared Holden. “This award makes me feel appreciated, and let’s me know that my colleagues recognize what physical therapists are able to do in a patient’s home. Home care therapists can perform a wide variety of services, and it feels good to know we can make a difference.”
Holden’s supervisor, Carol Becker, RPT, said, “Jane is an excellent patient advocate, and explores all options possible in her patient care. Her goal is always to help patients achieve their best possible results. We are honored
that she was selected as employee of the month for Day Kimball Hospital.”
Holden, a licensed physical therapist, joined the Day Kimball HomeCare team in 2002. As an adult, Holden returned to school for training in physical therapy. She is a graduate of the University of Connecticut’s School of Allied Health. Prior to becoming a physical therapist, Holden earned a degree in hotel and restaurant management, and worked in the food industry.
According to her peers, “Jane is passionate about her practice and helping her patients achieve their goals.
A true team player, and patient advocate, Jane is knowledgeable, creative and skilled, and applies these abilities with gusto each day.”
Judie Blackmore, RN, Associate Director of Day Kimball HomeCare added, “Jane is highly skilled and incorporates the newest treatment modalities into the patient's plan of care. She educates herself and the patient by often doing research behind the scenes to promote the best outcome for the patient. Jane enjoys teaching staff, patients, their families and the community. In fact, Jane worked with our team in the spring at Quinebaug Valley Community College for the Learning in Retirement Program. She is very comfortable in groups, both large and small. Patient satisfaction is high where Jane is concerned, her patients love her for both her compassion and her can-do attitude!”
A native of the south shore of Massachusetts, Holden moved locally when she began her physical therapy program at the University of Connecticut. Holden has been a resident of Willington for the past five years,
and in her free time, enjoys skiing and flying.
On Monday, January 22, Day Kimball Hospital will host a celebration reception in honor of Holden’s achievement. Her department, fellow colleagues, and family will be invited to attend.
