PUTNAM, CT –Day Kimball Hospital announces that Deborah Gilbert, clerical support staff in Rehabilitation Service’s Danielson Health Center office is the hospital’s March employee of the month. The Employee Council, a group of 20 hospital representatives, selected Gilbert as the employee of the month after reviewing various nominations from the hospital staff. “Deb is flawlessly reliable and dependable,” said Kim Wanegar-Nation, PT, Director of Rehabilitation Services. “She has established a very positive and productive relationship with many of the hospital’s departments. She has also been the companion to many challenging projects including, previous IT conversions and is currently the point-of-contact for our most recent IT conversion. In addition, Deb manages our aquatic program and wheelchair clinic. She is the most loyal person I’ve worked with in my 27-year career in healthcare.” Gilbert has worked for Day Kimball Hospital for the last fifteen years. When she began in 1992, she joined the Rehabilitation Services’ clerical staff at the Putnam office located within the hospital. Nearly three years ago, Gilbert also began working at Day Kimball’s Danielson Rehabilitation Center at 55 Green Hollow Road. Now, she works primarily in the Danielson office. “I feel so honored and humbled to be selected as Day Kimball Hospital’s March Employee of the Month,” said Deborah Gilbert. “When I was initially told, I thought to myself, how could I be rewarded for a job that I enjoy, appreciate, and am so fortunate to have? In the fifteen years that I’ve been on staff in Rehab Services, my job continues to evolve. When I began, my role was more hands-on with patients, and as time passed, it transitioned to working with our business office and insurance companies. We’ve also gone from keeping manual reports to becoming entirely computerized.” Gilbert added, “I work in a very positive environment, the attitude and motivation is infectious! Every site has its own unique charm, and I enjoy working with colleagues and patients in Putnam, Danielson, and Plainfield Rehab Services.” A native of Brooklyn, Gilbert now resides in Killingly with her husband, James, and they have three children Kelly, Jonathan and Justin. A proud grandmother, Gilbert has two grandchildren, Andrew and Even. Gilbert’s mother, Mildred Daigneault, lives in Brooklyn, and her brother, Raymond Daigneault, lives in Putnam with his family.
