PUTNAM, CT –Thursday, January 10, marked Day Kimball Hospital’s Annual Corporators’ Meeting held at Quinebaug Valley Community College. Over 150 Corporators attended the meeting as the 2007 Annual Report was unveiled.

This year’s meeting boasted a new theme titled “DKH+YOU: One Healthy Relationship.” The ambiance of the evening was set with a live jazz duo featuring pianist, Anders Vercelli and saxophonist, Andrew Halchak, while guests enjoyed passed hot and cold hors d’oeuvres. A dolphin-shaped ice sculpture surrounded by 40 lbs of shrimp added to the formality of the event. The business meeting was held in the auditorium from 6:00-7:00 while the mixing and mingling concluded the evening around 9:30.

“I so appreciate the use of Quinebaug Valley Community College’s beautiful facilities for this meeting and I am grateful for all the College did to help make the evening so pleasant and successful,” said Robert E. Smanik, President and CEO of Day Kimball Hospital. “I am always glad for the opportunity to meet and talk with the Corporators of the Hospital.  Their support of, interest in and commitment to our Hospital is invaluable to our efforts. It was important to take time to recognize the successes of the year just past and to reflect on the strengths of Day Kimball Hospital in the context of Primary Care and the Medical Home Model of care delivery. I enjoyed the evening and the sense of purpose and mission that it reinforces for us as a Hospital and community partner.”
