Carla Kress of Nutritional Services Named Day Kimball Hospital’s August Employee of the Month


Carla Kress of Day Kimball Hospital’s Nutritional Services Department was named the organization’s August Employee of the Month by the Employee Council.

PUTNAM, CT – Day Kimball Hospital announces that Carla Kress of Nutritional Services is the hospital’s August employee of the month. The Employee Council, a group of 20 hospital representatives, selected Kress as the employee of the month after reviewing various nominations from the
hospital staff.

“It is an honor to be chosen for this award,” said Kress. “Day Kimball Hospital has a reputation in the community as a great place to work and that’s a tribute to everyone who works here. To be chosen from among so many deserving employees is humbling.”

Kress was hired by Day Kimball Hospital in April of 2002, as a secretary in the Department of Nutritional Services. Before long, her excellent secretarial skills and easy-going manner made her a favorite of all. According to her peers, Kress is a dedicated employee who continually strives to improve her skills. She tackles all assignments with enthusiasm and is always willing to help others. In addition, her peers share that Carla always goes above and beyond what she “needs” to do for her job. She always gives 100% every day for her department, and for the hospital.

“Carla is a highly dedicated employee who brings enthusiasm and talent to
all aspects of the position. She continues to develop and streamline office processes using her computer knowledge and skills to improve the quality
and effectiveness of the department,” said Ruth Gregoire, Director of Nutritional Services at Day Kimball Hospital. “Carla’s easygoing and infectiously happy personality help to keep the staff upbeat. Everyone in
the department is proud to have Carla as a part of our team.”

Carla Kress lives in Putnam with her husband, Frederick, and they have two children, Brittany, 20, and Brandon, 19.

On Thursday, August 23rd, Day Kimball Hospital will host a celebration reception in honor of Kress’ achievement. Her department, fellow colleagues, and family will be invited to attend.
