News & EventsLinda Daniels of the Center for Healthy Aging Named Day Kimball Hospital’s July Employee of the Month
PUTNAM, CT –Day Kimball Hospital announces that Linda Daniels of the DKH Center for Healthy is the hospital’s July employee of the month. The Employee Council, a group of 20 hospital representatives, selected Daniels as the employee of the month after reviewing various nominations from the hospital staff. Linda Daniels is the program assistant at Day Kimball Hospital’s Center for Healthy Aging, located at 15 Marshall Street in Putnam. Daniels started her career at Day Kimball Hospital in June of 1996, and has earned as Associate’s Degree in Science/Medical Assisting from Quinebaug Valley Community College. In addition, she is board certified as a professional coder and as a medical assistant. “What a wonderful surprise! I am truly flattered to have been awarded such an honor,” said Linda Daniels. “To be recognized for a job well done by your coworkers is such a tremendous compliment. I am very fortunate to work with such a great team at the Center, and I hope that as the need for geriatric services continues to grow, so will we. It's a very rewarding profession.” Daniels has held various positions at Day Kimball Hospital including pre-admissions coordinator where she was responsible for the coordination of clinical and administrative services for patients preparing for surgery. She has also worked as a medical assistant/unit receptionist in the Anesthesia/Pain Management Services Division and office supervisor of the Pediatric Center. Cynthia Monette, Day Kimball Hospital’s Center for Healthy Aging practice manager said, “Linda has a tactful way of getting people motivated and opening them up to change. She has many things going at the same time, fulfilling provider requests, focusing on patient satisfaction, helping with billing and scheduling, and generally running the show. Everyone depends on Linda.” Dr. Joseph Botta, geriatrician, and Kathy Demers, APRN, of the Center added, “Linda is an exceptional employee who possesses qualities that make her stand out from the crowd. She has empathy and enthusiasm topped off by a wonderful sense of humor. The department has developed into a strong entity in part due to the expertise that Linda Daniels has brought to the position.” Linda Daniels lives in Danielson with her husband, Joe. The couple has one adult daughter, Rebecca. On Friday, July 20th, Day Kimball Hospital will host a celebration reception in honor of Daniel’s achievement. Her department, fellow colleagues, and family will be invited to attend. Day Kimball Hospital’s Center for Healthy Aging offers a variety of health, educational and other services for older adults age 60 and older living in northeastern Connecticut, with the goal of helping them maintain optimal health and independence. Day Kimball Hospital is a non-profit, 103-bed community hospital in Putnam. Day Kimball has been in operation since 1894, and provides for the health care needs of Northeastern Connecticut, and nearby Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
