News & EventsBeth Thayer, Mental Health Worker/Unit Receptionist, of the Behavioral Health Department, Named Day Kimball Hospital’s December Employee of the Month
PUTNAM, CT – Day Kimball Hospital announces that Beth Thayer, Mental Health Worker/Unit Receptionist of the Behavioral Health Department is the Hospital’s December employee of the month. The Employee Council, a group of 20 Hospital representatives, selected Thayer as the employee of the month after reviewing various nominations from the Hospital staff. “It’s truly an honor for me to be the employee of the month,” said Thayer. “I enjoy my job and find it very rewarding. I am part of a great staff and appreciate everyone that I work with.” In July of 1999, Thayer began working in the Psychiatric Inpatient Unit as a mental health worker/unit receptionist and holds that position still today. Currently, Thayer is studying to become a Radiology Technologist with the ultimate goal of becoming an Ultrasonographer. Kathleen Mackenzie, Manager, Psychiatric Inpatient Unit, said of Thayer, “Beth is a true team player. She is always willing to lend a hand.” Seven of Thayer’s co-workers nominated her for the employee of the month award, as well as her Director. Day Kimball Hospital is a non-profit, 103-bed community hospital in Putnam. Day Kimball has been in operation since 1894, and provides for the health care needs of Northeastern Connecticut, and nearby Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Day Kimball Hospital is served by more than 1,000 employees and more than 150 physicians, dentists and medical specialists. In coordination with its affiliated health centers in Danielson, Dayville, Plainfield and Thompson, Day Kimball offers acute and general medical/surgical care, a 24-hour Emergency and Prompt Care Department, obstetrics, gynecology, pediatrics, oncology, hematology, cardiopulmonary and psychiatric programs. |
