Colleen Smith, RN, of the Emergency Department, Named Day Kimball Hospital’s November Employee of the Month

Colleen Smith, RN, is named Day Kimball Hospital’s November Employee of the Month.

PUTNAM, CT – Day Kimball Hospital announces that Colleen Smith, RN, of the Emergency Department is the hospital’s November employee of the month. The Employee Council,
a group of 20 hospital representatives, selected Smith as the employee of the month after reviewing various nominations
from the hospital staff. 

“I’m very honored to be named the employee of the month,”
said Smith. Being an RN is a rewarding position to have at
Day Kimball Hospital. I enjoy working in my department and appreciate the support that I get from my team members.”

Smith began working in Day Kimball Hospital’s Emergency Department in 1993 as a Clinical Level I Nurse. Throughout
the years she has continued her studies to become a Clinical Level II Nurse, a member of the IV therapy team, a Clinical Coordinator and most recently the department's Operations Coordinator.

“Colleen is an extremely caring and compassionate nurse,” said Ann Dion, RN, MS, MBA, director of Emergency Services.  “When she delivers care, it is very evident that her patients and their families are the center of her practice.  In her leadership role in the ED, she guides our team with commitment and wisdom. The Emergency Department is very proud of her being named employee of the month.
