News & EventsDay Kimball Hospital Announces Opening of New Patient Registration AreaPUTNAM, CT – January 2, 2008 will mark the grand opening of Day Kimball Hospital’s centralized patient registration area. As the cornerstone for this initiative, all patients presenting for outpatient laboratory testing, outpatient surgery, outpatient endoscopy procedures, outpatient IV therapy and same day surgical admissions will now be registered in private, modern and state-of-the-art registration offices. “Day Kimball Hospital is excited to offer enhancements in the registration process,” said Crista Durand, Chief Financial Officer. “We hope these efforts will provide patients with more comfort and privacy as well as improve their overall experience at Day Kimball.” Day Kimball Hospital has also launched an enhanced financial counseling program to assist all patients with any out-of-pocket amounts that they may have, including co-payments, deductibles, and other healthcare expenses. For patients who are uninsured, Day Kimball’s specially trained staff is available to help screen patients for Medicaid Eligibility, Day Kimball Hospital Financial Assistance and other programs which may help cover both previous and future healthcare expenses. This centralized patient registration area will be located at the Medical Office Building and Pediatric Center entrance at the east side of the Hospital campus. Patients who present for more than one type of test order on the same day (such as outpatient lab and outpatient radiology services) are welcome to register for both services at this new location. Patients who present to the Hospital only for outpatient radiology services may continue to use the Emergency Department registration area for their convenience. Day Kimball Hospital is a non-profit, 103-bed community hospital in Putnam. Day Kimball has been in operation since 1894, and provides for the health care needs of Northeastern Connecticut, and nearby Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Day Kimball is served by more than 1,000 employees and more than 100 physicians, dentists and medical specialists. In coordination with its affiliated health centers in Danielson, Dayville, Plainfield and Thompson, Day Kimball offers acute and general medical/surgical care, a 24-hour Emergency and Prompt Care Department, obstetrics, gynecology, pediatrics, cardiopulmonary and psychiatric programs. |
