Greystone Farm
The John Russel Homestead Circa 1718
112 County Home Road (Rte. 21)
Thompson, Connecticut
Greystone Farm is located just south of Thompson's picturesque historical green. The farm was settled in 1718 by John and Elizabeth Russell, and remained in the Russell family for 118 years. The Thomas Elliot family owned the farm for the next 76 years, after which it served as a guest house and tea room for Marot Junior College.
Current owners Rob and Sue Vincent lovingly restored the 1745 house and the 1840 barn. In 1999, the 18th century cape and the 19th century barn from Alice Ramsdell's farm in West Thompson were relocated to the property.
Greystone Farm is presented in a beautiful pastoral setting. The exquisite home exemplifies 18th century American culture, boasting five fireplaces and twelve finely detailed rooms.
