Day Kimball HomeMakers

Celebrating 20 years!

Day Kimball HomeMakers, formerly Northeast HomeMakers, a non-profit subsidiary of Day Kimball Hospital, has been providing professional, in-home support services to northeastern Connecticut since 1985. The agency’s exceptional non-medical homemaker, chore, companion and respite services often enable elderly or disabled clients to live safely in the familiar and comfortable surroundings of their own homes. Services provided include housekeeping, laundry, cooking and meal preparation, transportation, shopping and errands, rides to medical appointments and medication reminders.

Day Kimball HomeMakers companion and respite services are ideal for individuals recovering from an illness, or for those suffering from Alzheimer’s disease or similar form of dementia and cannot be left alone safely. Services include socialization, meal preparation and clean up, medication supervision, shopping and other errands.

A companion from Day Kimball HomeMakers can also provide invaluable respite for a family member or other caregiver while they work, shop or are on vacation, ensuring security and socialization for their loved one or friend.

Companion and respite services are available hourly, half or full days or for an occasional overnight.

Services Provided

Homemaker, companion, traveling companion and respite services are provided to clients in Brooklyn, Canterbury, Eastford, Hampton, Killingly, Plainfield, Pomfret, Putnam, Thompson and Woodstock, CT.

• After the telephone interview, a home visit can be scheduled for a further assessment and to answer any remaining questions. Services can begin shortly afterwards.

Important reminders/things to remember

•  Medicare and other health insurances do not pay for these services; however, there are several programs that do if one qualifies. Call the office to discuss these different options;
