EndoscopyDay Kimball Hospital offers comprehensive endoscopic services through its Ambulatory Care Unit for the diagnosis and treatment of various diseases. Thanks to a growing awareness in the medical community of the value of colonoscopy in the early detection of colorectal cancer, the endoscopic program has grown enormously. To meet the increased demand, in 1999, the hospital opened the new Doris E. Madeira Endoscopy Suite. This state-of-the art suite consists of two modern procedure rooms and two private post procedure recovery rooms. The hospital’s Endoscopy Service also provides TEEs (transesophageal echocardiography) and bronchoscopies. Board certified gastroenterologists affiliated with Hartford Hospital as well as Day Kimball Hospital affiliated physicians perform these procedures. The Endoscopy Service is staffed by an experienced and caring team of physicians, nurses and patient care technicians. Day Kimball’s Ambulatory Care Unit Nursing Staff has been rated highest in patient satisfaction in Connecticut according to an independent, national survey. Services Provided
