The Nurturing Families Network at Day Kimball Hospital

The Nurturing Families Network provides education, support and assists in identifying and enhancing family strengths.

Services Provided

The Nurturing Families Network provides three components:

1.  Nurturing Connections ( Telephone Support )

A trained Nurturing Volunteer will provide:          

  • Answers to your non-medical questions
  • Confidentiality
  • Emotional Support
  • Monthly mailings - Child Development Info
  • Connection to Community Resources

2.  Intensive Home Visiting

Let a Family Support Worker assist with:

  • Child Development monitoring & info
  • Activities to do with your baby to promote healthy brain development
  • Certified infant massage instruction
  • Options to deal with every day stresses
  • Connecting you to Community Resources

3.  Nurturing Parent & Children Groups

This FREE 10-week series includes the following:

For Parents:

  • Infant & child development info
  • Ways to establish nurturing routines
  • Effective discipline techniques
  • Communication skills
  • Ways to safety proof your home
  • Community Resource Information

For Children:

  • Arts & crafts
  • Games
  • Music
  • Friends

All three components of Nurturing Families Network provide:

  • Confidentiality
  • Encouragement & Support
  • Helpful tips for calming a fussy baby
  • Free books and materials

Enrollment for Home Visits and Nurturing Connections is open to first-time parents. Enroll anytime during pregnancy or before your child turns 3 months old.

Nurturing Parent/Children Group enrollment is open to all parents with a child birth to 5 years old.
