Clinical NutritionNutrition is an important component of overall health and wellness. Day Kimball Hospital offers comprehensive clinical nutrition services, including assessments, monitoring, and education. The Clinical Nutrition department consists of a staff of registered dietitians skilled in analyzing a patient’s nutritional status and developing an individualized nutrition care plan to best meet the patient’s needs. Nutrition education is provided by registered dietitians for medical therapy, to correct nutritional problems and to patients and family members on medical diets and/or general nutrition. What to expect during your visit/procedureAs an inpatient, the Nutritional Services Department will consult with your physician to provide a menu which meets your individual dietary recommendations and/or restrictions. The dietitian may interview you and ask questions pertaining to appetite, usual dietary habits, food preferences and other issues pertaining to your diet. Appropriate nutrition information may also be provided. Important reminders/things to rememberInform your nurse or dietitian of any special food requirements, food allergies or food intolerances. |
