Psychiatric ServicesDay Kimball Hospital offers comprehensive mental health services including emergency psychiatric assessments, inpatient psychiatric treatment and outpatient mental health counseling. Emergency psychiatric evaluations are provided for patients who are in crisis by a team of master level clinicians and are available through Day Kimball Hospital’s Emergency Department 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The Psychiatric Inpatient Unit accepts individuals from age 13 and older for treatment. This intensive therapy unit provides comprehensive psychiatric evaluation and individualized treatment for mental health patients admitted to the unit. A multidisciplinary team collaborate daily, providing personalized treatment directed toward crisis intervention and stabilization of patients. The patient’s family, community, social networks, environment, culture and spiritual beliefs are all considered in the development of these individualized treatment plans and in the delivery of care. The Psychiatric Inpatient Unit is a 15-bed locked unit that operates The Mental Health Clinic program, located in the Community Services Building next to the hospital, provides short-term, individual, couples and group therapies, medication assessments and follow-up. It also provides psychiatric evaluations and medication management of anti-depressants, anti-anxiety, mood stabilizer and anti-psychotic medications. For more information call (860) 963-6385.
