Surgical Services
The Surgical Services Department at Day Kimball Hospital consists of the following departments:
Pre-Admission Testing (PAT) allows the patient an opportunity to review their past medical/surgical history with the PAT nurse and a member of the anesthesia team. Information about the surgical procedure is provided and all necessary labwork and other test can be done at this time. The PAT nurse will notify all patients needing Pre-Admission testing and an appointment will be scheduled.
One-Day Surgery prepares the patient for their procedure and also recovers the patient until they are readied for discharge home with a family member.
There are 4 operating rooms for patients undergoing one day surgery and same day admit procedures. The operating rooms are equipped with state-of-the-equipment and
are staffed with highly trained nurses and technicians.
After surgery, patients are closely monitored in PACU while they recover from anesthesia by an experienced and caring nursing staff.
The Endoscopy suite performs diagnostic procedures such as gastroscopy, colonoscopy and bronchoscopy. The suite consists of two procedure rooms equipped with the newest endoscopy equipment.
