PUTNAM, CT – Day Kimball Healthcare is pleased to announce that on September 1, 2010, it partnered with Jefferson Radiology to provide advanced and comprehensive diagnostic imaging and interventional services to radiology patients seen at Day Kimball Hospital, Danielson Healthcare Center or Plainfield Healthcare Center.

“Day Kimball Healthcare is excited to have a local radiology provider that shares our values of providing the highest quality patient care,” said Robert E. Smanik, FACHE, president and CEO. He added, “Jefferson Radiology’s exceptional customer service, depth of expertise and experience, along with their attention toward progressive technology and commitment to rapid turnaround of readings truly benefits our patients.”

The majority of Jefferson Radiology physicians have been fellowship trained at leading medical institutions throughout the country and have specialty expertise in all fields of radiology. All of the radiologists are board certified in diagnostic radiology. Their depth of services includes a secure link to other locations and members of their group for subspecialty readings when requested.

“We are pleased to partner with Day Kimball Healthcare and bring subspecialty imaging expertise to Northeast Connecticut, and we look forward to becoming a part of the Day Kimball community of patients and healthcare providers,” said Dr. Jack Foster, radiologist for Jefferson Radiology and new chief of radiology at Day Kimball Healthcare. Foster further commented, “Our philosophy is that a modern, progressive relationship between a healthcare organization and its radiology service extends far beyond the radiology reading room. We believe that a radiology service provider ideally works in alignment with the healthcare organization’s mission by providing outstanding, sub-specialized radiology services, and by supporting the organization’s outpatient endeavors, radiology staff management, accreditations and overall civic responsibilities.”

Day Kimball Healthcare becomes the fifth healthcare organization in Connecticut to provide Jefferson Radiology’s professional radiology services. Others include Hartford Hospital, Connecticut Children’s Medical Center, Windham Hospital and Johnson Memorial Hospital. Jefferson Radiology also has nine outpatient office locations in the greater Hartford area. They are one of the few private radiology group practices in the state of Connecticut to receive Joint Commission accreditation. In addition, they have secured accreditations by the American College of Radiology (ACR) and the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Vascular Labs (ICAVL).
