Day Kimball Hospital Announces First Baby Born in 2009
PUTNAM, CT – Day Kimball Hospital announces that Shy-Ann Aldrich was the first baby born in 2009 at the Hospital and in Eastern Connecticut. Delivered by Dr. Erica Kesselman, Shy-Ann came into the world on Thursday, January 1 at 12:19 a.m. to mother, Tammy Davis of Putnam. The infant weighed 5 lbs. 15.6 oz. and measured 20.5" long.

Being the first born baby in 2009, Shy-Ann's mother was presented with a gift basket from Day Kimball Hospital filled with items donated from local businesses. Contributions included gift cards and certificates, stuffed animals and a savings bond. Generous donors included Day Kimball Hospital Woman's Board Gift Shop, Wal*Mart, Express Photo, Godley Spirits, Midtown Fitness, Phyllis's Specialty Baking, Day Kimball HomeMakers, Putnam Bank, Wonderland Books and Hank's Restaurant.
