Day Kimball Hospital Hosts Free Sleep Disorder Lecture: "Learn the ABCs About Quality ZZZs"

– Day Kimball Hospital is hosting a free educational lecture called, "Learn the ABCs about Quality ZZZs" on Thursday, October 15, 2009 from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. in the hospital's private dining room on the main floor. Featured speakers who are experts on sleep disorders include Day Kimball's Sleep Disorder Center Medical Director, Majaz Moonis, MD, MRCP, DM, ABSM, FAAN; Christopher Charon, MD and Lisa French CRT, RPSGT. The event is sponsored by Philips Respironics, a leading provider of medical devices used to treat people with sleep disorders.

For those who have difficulty sleeping or suffer from snoring, restless nights, depression and/or fatigue during the day, this lecture may provide important information needed in order to reclaim a restful night's sleep. A unique aspect of this lecture is that it covers sleep disorders for children as well as adults. Dr. Moonis will discuss symptoms, lab tests, treatment options and how sleep disorders affect overall health which may lead to heart disease and stroke. Dr. Charon will explain how ear, nose and throat issues can affect sleep. Lisa French is one of the hospital's polysomnographic technologists and will share details about the hospital's accredited sleep disorder center and how its services are used to assist doctors to find effective treatment plans for their patients.
