PUTNAM, CT – Day Kimball Healthcare recently welcomed Rudy Pauls, now a local celebrity and runner-up of NBC’s Season 8 of “The Biggest Loser,” to share his experience of losing 234 lbs and how he maintains a healthy lifestyle today. Pauls’ lecture helped to kick off Day Kimball’s latest employee wellness fall fitness initiative.

More than 60 people attended this community-wide event and listened to Pauls share what life was like after the show ended and his current health plan, including eating locally-grown organic foods and participating in triathlons. Pauls also answered many questions about his personal weight loss journey and future goals, as well as narrated a slideshow of photos from his time as a contestant on “The Biggest Loser.”

After Pauls’ presentation, Geoffrey Brown, PA, RN from CIGNA discussed how to apply Pauls’ accomplishments to yourself. Brown focused on the importance of knowing the essential health numbers that affect daily living and what it means to take an active role in your own personal health journey.

“Rudy reminded us how important role models and mentors are in all aspects of life,” said Robin Thompson, program coordinator for Integrative Medicine and Employee Wellness. “His heartfelt presentation inspired our employees and community members to take firm next steps toward living their lives well.”
