Day Kimball Healthcare Plainfield Walk-In Clinic Temporarily Suspends Services
March 24, 2020
In response to the coronavirus disease COVID-19 causing a significant drop in patient visits, the Day Kimball Healthcare (DKH) Walk-In Clinic in Plainfield will temporarily suspend services effective Thursday, March 26 until further notice.
Patients who would visit the Plainfield Walk-in Clinic located at 12 Lathrop Road, can contact their established primary care provider (PCP). Patients who do not have an established PCP can call 1-844-DKMG-DOC to get connected with a physician within the Day Kimball Healthcare network.
“The decision to temporarily close our Walk-In clinic is part of our overall planning and response to the coronavirus,” said Joseph Adiletta, Interim President, Day Kimball Healthcare.
“Day Kimball is taking all necessary steps and precautions to safe-guard the well-being of our patients, staff and the community,” Adiletta said. “In addition to protecting the health of our community, this decision also helps to conserve protective equipment like face masks, gloves, and gowns as much as possible.”
Other services available at the Day Kimball Healthcare Center in Plainfield will remain open, for now, including blood draw, diagnostic imaging, internal medicine, OB/GYN, and pediatrics.
“Prior to the pandemic, the Walk-In clinic offered convenient and affordable medical care options to anyone in our community who needed it. We look forward to resuming operations at our Walk-In clinic after the coronavirus crisis has passed,” said Adiletta.”
DKH recommends that anyone who develops a fever, cough or difficulty breathing should contact their primary care provider.
The Emergency Department at Day Kimball Hospital in Putnam is available around the clock for the evaluation and treatment of individuals of all ages with all types of injuries and illnesses, including those who have concerns or symptoms of coronavirus.
Hospitals and health systems urge individuals to practice diligent social distancing now in order to reduce the number of cases and reduce the surge of patients who will need hospital level of care.
