February 18, 2015
PUTNAM, CONN. –  Day Kimball Healthcare recently received re-accreditation for its Sleep Center located at Day Kimball  Hospital and its Laboratory which conducts tests at the Hospital, manages four community-based blood draw facilities, and provides blood draw services to skilled nursing facilities in the region. The American Academy of Sleep Medicine granted a five-year accreditation to the Sleep Center for both inpatient and in-home studies and the College of American Pathologists (CAP) awarded the Laboratory a two-year accreditation.

“Consistency of quality is the hallmark of excellence. We are very proud of the teams in our Sleep Center and our Laboratory Department for continuing to meet the high quality standards of these
nationally-recognized accreditation organizations,” said Donald St. Onge, Senior Vice President, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Nursing Officer.

In both cases, rigorous onsite inspections of the facilities were conducted by the respective accreditation committees. The process also includes review of policies and procedures and verification they are being properly followed.
