Heart disease is the leading cause of death for men, women, and people of most racial and ethnic groups in the United States. One person dies every 33 seconds in the United States from cardiovascular disease. For our community, we have developed a comprehensive, high-quality, and well-coordinated cardiac care program.

Primary Prevention
The first link in the chain of survival is prevention. Our cardiology practitioners will work with you and your family to help identify possible cardiac-related concerns and help you with implementing a prevention program of medication, awareness, education, and lifestyle modification.

Emergency Care
When seconds count, if you or your loved one has a serious cardiac event, we are READY. The first hour of a heart attack is critical, often referred to as the “Golden Hour”. Rapid diagnosis and treatment can help minimize permanent damage and save lives. Our community has highly skilled paramedics who can administer life-saving treatment well before you arrive in our Emergency Department. Upon arrival at the hospital, our emergency care team is ready with rapid and aggressive response to all cardiac emergencies. We have developed great relationships with larger “BIG Hospitals” and can have you there within nighty minutes of arrival if it is determined that you need surgery or other lifesaving interventions that are not performed here.

Non-Invasive Cardiac Testing and Physician Services
Our patient will benefit from an array of advanced non-invasive cardiac testing, stress tests, mobile cardiac telemetry, nuclear scans, and top-of-the-line echocardiography which are normally only offered at major medical centers. We have a dedicated team that specializes in the surgical procedures of pacemakers, Defibrillators, multi-lead systems, and implantable loop recorders as well as transesophageal echocardiograms and cardioversions if the need is warranted. Our cardiology team will be there every step of the way.

Our affiliation with nearby major medical centers ensures access to even more advanced procedures such as cardiac catheterization, angioplasty, and open heart surgery. We can provide access to other expert cardiology services through our associated cardiologist at UMass Memorial Medical Center, Yale Medical Center, Hartford HealthCare, St. Francis Medical Center, and many other practices. Our cardiology practitioners have advanced training and expertise in advanced heart failure, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, and other genetic cardiomyopathies. We will be there every step of the way, with even the most complex patients.

Anticoagulation Clinic
Our Anticoagulation clinic will help monitor your INRs and help manage your anticoagulation medication also known as “blood thinners”. These medications are prescribed for a variety of conditions where blood clotting is a concern. A simple finger stick test is conducted each visit which measures your INR allowing our skilled practitioner to adjust your medication accordingly to optimize the effectiveness of the medication's desired effect.

Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation
The final link in the chain of survival is post-hospital care. Our cardiopulmonary rehabilitation program can help get you back to your full cardiac health. We offer a supervised exercise program, where a specially trained RN will monitor your progression, report changes, and make recommendations to our cardiology physicians and your referring physician. Together, in our state-of-the-art facility, we will get you back to the highest quality of life after a serious cardiac event.
