Clarissa (Claire) Mejia, Physical Therapist, Has Been Named Day Kimball Hospital's May Employee of the Month

Clarissa Mejia, Physical Therapist, Day Kimball’s May Employee of the Month.


–Day Kimball Hospital announces that Clarissa (Claire) Mejia, Physical Therapist, is the Hospital's May employee of the month. The Employee Council, a group of 20 Hospital representatives, selected Mejia as the employee of the month after reviewing various nominations from hospital management.

"I never expected to receive this award," said Mejia."I am very happy and honored to be recognized in this way. I have learned so much in the past three years and the people I work with are very supportive, generous and patient."

A member of the Day Kimball family for just three years, Mejia has had a significant impact on the organization. Originally from the Philippines, Mejia came to the United States for this position at Day Kimball with her husband and child and now resides in Putnam. Mejia is a graduate of Velez College in Cebu, a province of the Philippines.

Mejia's daily responsibilities include a case-load of 12-14 patients per day, patient evaluations, conferencing with physicians and colleagues and following up on patient care."Being with patients and interacting with them is what I enjoy most about my position at Day Kimball," said Mejia."I like learning about other people and being able to help them."

"Claire is one of those individuals that always has a smile on her face and a kind word for everyone," said Daniel Marcotte, PT, MPH, Director of Physical Medicine. "She is pleasant, upbeat, and contributes to a harmonious work environment. As a clinician, Claire is truly dedicated to providing excellence in patient care. She goes to great lengths to provide optimal care through research of current trends in treatment and consulting with peers. She embodies all of the qualities of the ideal employee."
