Day Kimball Healthcare 2011 Annual Report

January 10, 2012

It’s been said that healing is an art, medicine is a science, and healthcare is a business. At Day Kimball Healthcare, we are in the enviable position of being directly involved in all three.

It’s incredibly rewarding work. It’s also very challenging. While the public may be peripherally aware of issues that might affect their care, our 1,200 employees deal directly with these issues. Some are unique to Day Kimball; some are universal in scope. Some are complex; some are simple. Some will greatly improve patient care; the effect of others is not yet fully understood. In every case, we are working to make sure that their impact on the care we deliver to our community falls squarely into the “positive” column.

To help you understand the reasons behind the decisions we’re making at Day Kimball Healthcare, this Annual Report introduces our strategic vision — the succinct statement of what we are working toward as an organization. We also discuss the steps we took over the year to achieve that vision. We believe it is an eye-opening look at what we do, why we do it, and how we will keep improving.

As always, we offer a sincere “thank you” to our physicians and employees, volunteers, board of directors, corporators, and everyone in the community who supports Day Kimball Healthcare. None of our success would be possible without your dedication to our vision as well as to our art, science, and business.
