Day Kimball Healthcare’s 7th Annual Twilight in the Country Event

Tyrone Farm, located in Pomfret Center, Conn., offers attendees of the 7th Annual Twilight in the Country event breathtaking scenic views of Northeast Connecticut.

PUTNAM, CONN. – On Sunday, June 3, 2012, Day Kimball Healthcare will host the 7th Annual Twilight in the Country: A Dinner Stroll and Concert, at Tyrone Farm in Pomfret Center, Conn. Pre-dinner music will be provided by Jared Trudeau followed by music and dancing by Eight to the Bar. The event also includes a house tour, hors d’oeuvres, a multi-course dinner stroll, wine and beer cash bar, and silent auction.

Twilight in the Country is a benefit for Day Kimball HomeCare, Day Kimball HomeMakers and Hospice & Palliative Care of Northeastern Connecticut. Each of these agencies provides in-home care in the forms of skilled services, personal care and companionship, and compassionate end-of-life care. Each agency works together to ensure that safe and high-quality care is provided for each client. Proceeds from this event assist clients and their families within our community who need financial assistance in order to receive these essential services. Over the past six years, hundreds of guests have attended Twilight in the Country, raising nearly a quarter of a million dollars.

The festivities begin at 5:00 p.m. and admission is $85 per person. During the stroll of picturesque Tyrone Farm, guests will sample hors d’oeuvres and listen to period music performed by local musician Jared Trudeau and vie for choice items featured in the Silent Auction. Some exclusive auction items this year include a Tanglewood Prairie Home Companion package, Red Sox and Bruins tickets, a lobster cruise on the Mystic Whaler, and over 75 other items to bid on.

The multi-course dinner will feature small-plate stations followed by dessert. Lastly, Eight to the Bar, known for its outstanding instrumentalists and sophisticated musical and vocal arrangements, will perform a concert. Eight to the Bar draws its influences from American roots including swing, soul, rhythm and blues and boogie woogie. The band has cultivated a large, enthusiastic following that has put them in clubs from Disneyland to Disney World as well as Europe and the Caribbean.

Tyrone Farm, a country estate, was established in in 1742 and has been maintained in its entirety. The grounds feature breathtaking scenic views of Northeast Connecticut, manicured lawns and authentic gardens. Comprised of over 160 acres of land, Tyrone Farm is one of the most beautiful hidden treasures in the Quiet Corner.
