Day Kimball Hospital Guest Bartending and Wine Tasting Events Raise More Than $5,000 for Deary Memorial Cancer Fund

–Day Kimball Hospital’s Guest Bartender Night, which served as the kickoff for the 2009 Day Kimball Hospital Deary Memorial Race, Walk & Ride, and a Wine Tasting held recently at Putnam Ford Mercury together raised more than $5,000 for the Deary Memorial Cancer Fund at Day Kimball Hospital.

“The outpouring of support demonstrates how much heart goes into this cause,” said Tori Bates, Day Kimball Hospital event manager. “The support we receive at these events reflects the community’s commitment to the Day Kimball Hospital Deary Memorial Cancer Fund, where all monies remain local to help provide cancer-related services and treatment to individuals in our community.”

The Day Kimball Hospital Deary Memorial Kickoff and Guest Bartender Night at J.D. Cooper’s in Putnam attracted over 200 patrons who enjoyed being served by guest bartenders. The four bartending teams were: “Local Towns Pull Together ~ The Three P’s” with Jim Rivers, Paul Sweet and Bob Viens who received $204 in tips; “Coaches & Parents ~ Deary Gymnastics” with Dawn Deary, Robin Deary-Fillmore, Rose Fulchino, Colleen Logan, Wendy Osborn, Crystal Macfarland and Tara Pasiakos who raised $841 in tips; “Remember When ~ WINY Radio 1350” with Steve Bousquet, Zach Dauphinais, Kerri Donovan, Gary Osbrey and Peter Regas who raised $308 in tips; and “The Skeleton Crew ~ The Center for Bone & Joint Care” with Dr. Biren Chokshi, Dr. Christian Dee, Tom Harney, David LaChance and Don St. Onge who raised $900 in tips. The combined total from bartending and other events that took place at the kickoff was over $4,000, all of which goes right into the Day Kimball Hospital Deary Memorial Cancer Fund.

The Wine Tasting at Putnam Ford Mercury offered various wine selections and micro brews to over 100 attendees and collected over $1,000 for the Day Kimball Hospital Deary Memorial Cancer Fund. The event was sponsored by Putnam Ford Mercury and Godley Spirits, and hosted by Rick Place at Putnam Ford Mercury.

In the past two years, more than $96,000 has been expended to cover medical costs of local residents receiving oncology services, mammograms, ultrasounds, medications, and surgical procedures.
