Local Subcontractors and Suppliers Are Encouraged to Bid on New Day Kimball Healthcare Center in Plainfield, CT

PUTNAM, CT – Day Kimball Healthcare is excited to announce the next round of subcontractor bids being collected for the new Day Kimball Healthcare Center located at 12 Lathrop Road in Plainfield, Connecticut.

Construction is now underway for this new 27,500 s.f., two-story medical office building, located on a beautifully landscaped, 4-acre site with access from Lathrop Road and Dow Road. The building will be a steel frame structure with a brick veneer exterior, a shingled mansard roof with gabled dormers and windows carefully positioned to provide views of the wooded surroundings. The first floor of the facility will include a Walk-in and an Adult Primary Care facility, each with nine exam rooms. A Women’s Health Center will occupy the second floor and will include twelve exam rooms as well as diagnostic imaging and other services. The second floor will also include meeting room space for community contact and education.

The Downes Construction Company is taking bids from pre-qualified subcontractors for the following work, shown with each approximate package value:

Plans and specs will be available from Downes after January 18, 2010. Bids will be due by February 5, 2010.

In November, more than 50 subcontractor firms attended a pre-construction open house at Day Kimball Hospital to learn about the project. After contracts are awarded to successful bidders, a second open house will be scheduled for persons seeking construction employment opportunities.
