Amanda Clarke, RTR, in Diagnostic Imaging, is Day Kimball Hospital’s August Employee of the Month.

PUTNAM, CT – Day Kimball Healthcare announces that Amanda Clarke, registered technologist of radiology, (RTR) in the Diagnostic Imaging Department is Day Kimball Hospital’s August Employee of the Month.

“I really am honored to be the employee of the month,” said Clarke. “Our team is amazing and everyone works well together. I enjoy interacting with my patients and meeting so many people from day to day.”

Joining the organization in 2001as a receptionist in Diagnostic Imaging, Clarke went to school at Quinebaug Valley Community College to earn her Associate’s degree in Science and Liberal Arts while working full time. She enjoyed working in the department so much that she later decided to become an RTR and went on to graduate from Windham Hospital in 2008 with her certification.

Today, Clarke’s daily responsibilities include performing X-rays in the department and in patient rooms and assisting in other areas of the hospital as needed.

“Amanda worked hard to further her education to become a radiographer while maintaining a clerical position in our department, said JoAnn Slota,” manager of diagnostic imaging. “She is a caring, compassionate individual who is very patient focused. She is eager to do a good job and sets an example as the type of individual Day Kimball Healthcare is fortunate to have. She is a role model for her co-workers and is very deserving of this recognition.”

A lifelong resident of Putnam, Clarke enjoys fishing, camping and being outdoors.
