Day Kimball Healthcare (DKH) has welcomed Stephen F. Schiff, MD, FACS, who joined the Day Kimball Medical Group medical staff as a new urologist earlier this year.
Since Dr. Schiff’s arrival to DKH, the urology department has been able to re-establish high quality, integrated urology services. In addition to outpatient ambulatory urology services, DKH offers comprehensive surgical care for many urological conditions.
“The opportunity to seek care for urology services close to home is important,” said Dr. John Graham, Chief Medical Officer and Vice President of Medical Affairs and Quality and former urologist at DKH. “We are thrilled to have Dr. Schiff join our medical staff and expand the scope of specialty care we are able to provide to our community. Dr. Schiff brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our team. We are excited to add such a highly qualified and committed physician who has provided new perspectives and approaches to ultimately make a difference in our patient’s lives.”
As a dedicated urologist, Dr. Schiff provides medical and surgical care of the urinary tract in men and women, and the reproductive system in men. Urology combines medical and surgical management for a variety of benign and malignant conditions, including urinary tract infection, benign prostatic hyperplasia, stone disease, urologic malignancy (prostate, bladder, kidney and testis), hematuria (blood in urine), sexual dysfunction and voiding dysfunction (incontinence).
Dr. Schiff comes to DKH from the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University where he was a professor of surgery for 27 years. He earned his medical degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School and is certified by the American Board of Urology. Dr. Schiff received his surgical and urology training at Harvard Medical School’s residency program at Massachusetts General Hospital located in Boston, Massachusetts. His professional interests include general urology, urologic malignancies, stone disease, and voiding dysfunction.
Dr. Schiff currently resides in Riverside, Rhode Island with his wife who is a neonatal nurse in the intensive care unit at Brigham and Women’s in Boston, Massachusetts.
