The mission of the Woman's Board is to raise funds to enhance the quality and services of Day Kimball Hospital, in Putnam, CT. Towards that end, the Woman's Board hosts a variety of events throughout the year.
In 2019, the Woman’s Board will celebrate 125 years of service to Day Kimball Hospital.
For over a century, women from across Northeastern Connecticut have continued to come together through membership in the Woman's Board to help sustain and grow the health and wellness of our communities.
We are organized for charitable purposes to promote and advance the welfare of the Hospital by being active community ambassadors and by raising funds to meet hospital needs. During our history, we have donated more than $1.5 million to Day Kimball Hospital. Our last pledge raised more than $40,000 for an updated BabySafe Monitoring System for the Maternal Child Health department located within the hospital's Burdick Family Birthing Center.
Our new pledge, starting in 2018, is for $200,000 and will update the the Birthing Center aesthetically. Funds for these commitments come from The Shop at Day Kimball and from various fundraisers sponsored by the Woman’s Board.
Woman's Board members span a wide variety of age groups, interests and communities. There are many ways to participate, depending upon your time and talents. Click here to view our officers and membership page.
