Day Kimball Healthcare and Town of Putnam to Host Concert in Rotary Park in Celebration of 125th Anniversary

07/03/2019

Celebrating 125 years in the heart of the community, Day Kimball Healthcare (DKH) invites the public to a free, family-friendly outdoor concert at Putnam’s Rotary Park on Saturday, July 13.

DKH has partnered with the Town of Putnam on this occasion to celebrate the community health system’s 125-year anniversary; a major milestone in its history of providing service to the community.

“This anniversary is both a time to reflect on our history and the profound impact DKH has contributed to healthcare in Northeast Connecticut, and an opportunity for us to acknowledge the support of our generous community in the past, present, and in the future,” said DKH President and CEO Anne Diamond. “The community built this hospital and they keep us standing. We are bound together through deep history, timeless commitment and our pursuit of excellence to provide hope and inspiration in our care for one another. We look forward to celebrating with the community in this way.”

“We congratulate Day Kimball Hospital on their 125th anniversary and look forward to their celebration in Rotary Park at our first River Fire of the season,” said Putnam’s Mayor Barney Seney.

The community concert begins at 6:30 p.m. on the bandstand and will feature music for all ages provided by Fever, a funk, jazz and rock band out of Wethersfield, CT. The evening will include family friendly activities, and food will be available for purchase provided by the Putnam Lions Club.

“We hope the event will bring together generations of individuals born at the hospital and many doctors, nurses, and hospital staff that have come through its doors, in celebration of an era, a hospital, and most importantly, a community,” said Diamond.

The concert will be followed by the first River Fire of the season at 8:30 p.m. Come stroll along the River Trail or relax in lawn chairs in Rotary Park where you will enjoy the ambiance of the Quinebaug River lit up by glowing fire-floating pots with mood setting music.

All ages are welcome and invited to attend the celebration. Free admission and parking. No reservations needed. The concert rain date is scheduled for Sunday, July 14th from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
