Ryan Cowles, electrician in the facilities management department at Day Kimball Hospital, has been named employee of the month for November by Day Kimball Healthcare (DKH).

Cowles began working for DKH in September 2017. Prior to joining DKH, Cowles worked in the field as an electrician for twelve years. In his role, he is responsible for performing highly skilled maintenance, installation, repair and troubleshooting work with electrical systems in a number of areas.

According to Cowles’ supervisor, Greg Harubin, director, facilities management, Day Kimball Healthcare, “Ryan is a great asset to our department. He is humble, smart, and consistent. Ryan always seeks a challenge. Whenever there is a problem, he works hard to find a solution.”

In response to being named employee of the month, Cowles said, “I was pleasantly surprised to be nominated. This is a great honor. There are many people at DKH who are deserving of this award, and I am proud to be one of them.”

When asked what he likes most about his job, Cowles said, “The talented people I work with, the complex systems I work on, and the proximity of work to home.”

Cowles received his electrician license from Independent Electrical Contractors of New England in Rocky Hill in 2003. He holds an E-1 license in the State of Connecticut and Journeyman License in Massachusetts and New Hampshire.

Originally from Old Wethersfield, Connecticut, Cowles currently resides in Woodstock, Connecticut with his wife of twelve years, Jen, his eleven year old daughter, Lyla, and their cat, Cal.
