SPIROL International Corporation, a global manufacturer headquartered in Danielson, Connecticut, has stepped forward for a third consecutive year to support the Northeast Connecticut Cancer Fund of Day Kimball Healthcare (DKH), by raising over $13,000 for the Fund.
In addition to designating the company’s fiscal year 2021 employee giving campaign to the Northeast Connecticut Cancer Fund of DKH, SPIROL’s fundraising team raised money by hosting various philanthropic initiatives throughout the year and participated in DKH fundraising committees including the 2021 Cruise, BBQ & Brew and Canines for Cancer Care events. SPIROL supported the hard work of its employees with a $5,000 match.
“We extend heartfelt gratitude for the outpouring of support for local cancer patients shown by the generosity of SPIROL and its employees,” said Kyle Kramer, Chief Executive Officer, Day Kimball Healthcare. “We look forward to being able to continue to provide quality healthcare for our community with the help of partners like SPIROL.”
SPIROL is passionate about giving back to its local communities. The company is actively engaged in partnering with local organizations to make a tangible difference in the environment and in the lives of others. Corporate citizenship has been a SPIROL mandate from its founding leaders 60 years ago and remains an area the company and its employees are passionate about today.
”2021 was another great year working with DKH and the NE CT Cancer Fund,” said Matt Bartlett, Manufacturing Manager and Employee Giving Chair, SPIROL International. “We are proud to assist and support a vital member of the community that does so much good for not only cancer treatment but overall healthcare for this quiet corner of Connecticut.”
“I can’t say enough about how much of a pleasure it is to work with Matt and the entire team at SPIROL, and how much we appreciate their dedication toward supporting our cancer patients and their families,” said Kristen Willis, Director of Development, Day Kimball Healthcare. “We know how challenging it has been for everyone over the past two years, and for the SPIROL employees to come through with this level of support again this year is truly amazing.”
To date, SPIROL’s Employee Giving Program has raised over $35,000 for the Northeast Connecticut Cancer Fund of Day Kimball Healthcare since beginning their fundraising efforts in fiscal year 2019 and has had a long-standing community partnership with DKH spanning over three decades. The SPIROL team has once again pledged to support the Northeast Connecticut Cancer Fund of DKH for the company’s 2022 fiscal year.
“SPIROL is proud to continue our strong partnership with the NE CT Cancer Fund as we move into 2022,” said Jeff Koehl, Chief Executive Officer, SPIROL International. “As an organization, and a community of employees, SPIROL remains focused on giving back to our community and we could not do this without the organizational and administrative efforts of the wonderful staff at Day Kimball Hospital and the amazing contributions of each of our SPIROL team members who donate their personal time and energy to making this a success each year.”
Originally founded by a local family in honor of a loved one lost too soon to breast cancer, today the Northeast Connecticut Cancer Fund of DKH provides financial assistance to more than 200 neighbors in need each year. Assistance is used to help pay for cancer-related screening and treatment services to individuals living in Northeast Connecticut who otherwise may not have the financial resources to access needed medical care. Through charitable contributions of local businesses, community members, and various philanthropic events, more than $1.3 million has been raised for the Fund since its inception in 1989.
The Northeast Connecticut Cancer Fund of DKH depends on the support and philanthropy of businesses like SPIROL and people in the community it serves. For more information about the Fund visit www.daykimball.org/nect-cancer-fund or contact the DKH Development office at (860) 928-7141.
