- Biography:
Helder has been working as a physician assistant for over thirty years. He received the Norwalk Hospital Board of Trustees award for his consistently excellent patient care and was invited to remain on staff after graduation. Helder continued at Norwalk Hospital and participated in teaching within the surgical residency program. Most of his professional life has focused on surgical physician assistant roles, with more than 25 years dedicated to intraoperative and perioperative urology patient care. During his time at UMASS Memorial Hospital, Helder served as lead PA in Urology, training numerous PAs and NPs in the field. He is experienced in managing a broad range of urologic conditions.
Helder practiced internal medicine in two clinical facilities, where he evaluated and managed urological conditions for outpatients.
Helder was dedicated to breeding top-ranked German Shepard dogs, a pursuit in which he competed both in the USA and Germany for many years. He also enjoys traveling, dining with friends, and playing tennis.
