Day Kimball Healthcare is pleased to expand access to the COVID-19 vaccine in the communities we serve.
As the state rollout continues, Day Kimball will update you as new information becomes available.
Day Kimball To Pause Use of Johnson & Johnson Vaccine
Tuesday, April 13, 2021
Based on the current recommendation from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Day Kimball will pause the use of the Johnson and Johnson (J&J) COVID-19 vaccine until further notice.
For those who have booked appointments at our upcoming clinics on April 14, 19, and 21, we will convert to using the Moderna product a 2-step vaccine, spaced 28 days apart.
Beginning April 1st, all individuals 16 years of age and older who live, work, or attend school in Connecticut are eligible to receive vaccine.
- Connecticut residents age 16
- Employees who work in Connecticut who are 16
- Students attending school in-person in Connecticut who are 16

Vaccines for Eligible Day Kimball Medical Group Primary Care Patients
Day Kimball Healthcare is offering the COVID-19 vaccine to its Day Kimball Medical Group (DKMG) primary care patients who qualify as part of Connecticut’s vaccination program. Learn more about this launch >
Please note the following:
- The Moderna COVID-19 vaccine requires two shots that are spaced four weeks apart.
- DKMG is contacting eligible patients to schedule their vaccine appointments for both their first and second doses.
- Vaccinations will take place by appointment only. Walk-in appointments are not available.
- Masks will be required, and all persons will be screened upon entry.
- People scheduled to receive the vaccine should plan to come alone and be prepared to wait 15 minutes after receiving the vaccine for observation before leaving.
- If a person with an appointment requires assistance, they will be permitted to have one person accompany them.
- Patients should bring a photo ID and a pen to their appointments.
- Patients should bring bring vaccination record cards to their appointment.
Until a vaccine is available to everyone, it is important to continue wearing masks, social distancing, and practicing basic hand hygiene.
